Dress Code

Concordia Jr./Sr. High School Uniform Dress Code for School Year 2011-12

While it is true that there is no such thing as "Christian" dress, a standard of dress is always appropriate for a given place or occasion. The uniform dress code is intended to help the Concordia student body think about its witness to others. It must be remembered that Concordia is a place of learning. Styles perfectly acceptable for lounging and special occasions may be completely inappropriate for school wear. The administration of Concordia reserves the right to determine inappropriate dress. However, in order to facilitate the best possible teaching and learning atmosphere. There are two words that exemplify our standards for dress: modesty and safety.

Modesty: Clothing must fit appropriately (not too tight or baggy) or be too revealing. Clothing should promote a learning environment and not distract from it. Clothing that is faded, torn, ripped, and holey or that is in general disrepair is not allowed.

Safety:  If clothing is worn that jeopardizes the safety of any student, it is unacceptable.

While this dress code may not fit your personal taste and wardrobe, it is designed to give you comfort and some flexibility, yet maintain set standards.
